The wonderful raw papaya

Yesterday was lockdown and today the vegetable van did not arrive. With just a few onions and chillies was wondering what should I make. So I wandered into my garden and looked around. Did not find any vegetables . But saw my papaya tree full of unripe papayas.
Had heard that, one can make some delicious curries with them.Have never tasted Papaya curries.
So that is my Papaya tree has quite a lot of fruit. My maid covered half of the low hanging fruits to avoid an evil eye. Something new to me again.

Well, so I made up my mind that I am going to cook papaya.Using a sharp knife cut out one from the upper branch, dropped it into my small bucket to avoid the sap all over me.
Next I went on to do some research and was surprised to find some interesting recipes by different states of India. So I chose a recipe from Bengal and one recipe by vah re vah chef.

1) Kancha peper ghonto from Bengal

2) Raw papaya fry by Vah re vah Chef

Care taken:-
While peeling kept dipping the papaya back in water to avoid the sap on my fingers. And followed the recipes.
Okay so the reviews:-
The Kancha peper Ghonto was very different and tasty with plain piping hot rice. I did cut down on the chillies as the chillies from my garden are very spicy.
The recipe by vah re vah chef was very good to eat as an accompaniment with simple Dal rasam and rice. I substituted groundnuts with roasted pumpkin seeds.
Finally why did I want to try something different? A vegetable or fruit that was not cooked in my house, I haven't tasted it anywhere either. Simple because of the numerous health benefits of raw papaya.
Will list one of the website I looked up.

Thank you ..
Do try the raw papaya

Simple hair care

Aa.... A topic that is so touchy for many. I remember as a child my parents telling me the best way to take care of your hair is apply coconut oil and wash with Reetha / Shikkakai. I was like mom what do you understand the pains of combing the hair.. Hair is so frizzy and the struggles went on to breaking and hair thinning etc...  Went on to try the so called so many conditioners... I noticed it helped temporarily and definately did not feel good by the 2nd day ... 😏  Finally came to a point of balding. Tried even the onion juice , hair creams and infused oils, and lastly tried out even the ayurvedic brands like vedix. etc... All these trials made me think more ... In these trials I understood self made hair creams worked ... Reetha and shikkai worked ... But how much care do we need for the scalp and hair I went on to experiment... And the following helped... Will explain the why and the science behind it too... 1) Being on the nature cure way of life helped as we eat ...
